Lauren Cromarty is a seasoned Sustainability and Environmental Planning professional with extensive experience in driving innovative and sustainable solutions across various sectors. With a Master's degree in Planning and a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Planning from the University of Tasmania, along with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management from Bond University, Lauren's academic background is the foundation of her expertise in sustainability and environmental management.
Currently, Lauren serves as a Senior Sustainability Consultant at DLC Spatial, where she focuses on innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. In her role, she acts as a circular economy strategic advisor, project partner, and an all-round doer, helping organisations build a better world one project at a time. With the perfect complementary skill set, Lauren works with Esprit to deliver comprehensive sustainability strategies that drive positive change and enhance organisational performance.
Prior to her current role, Lauren worked as an Environmental Scientist at Hydro Tasmania, Australia's leading clean energy business and largest generator of renewable energy. During her tenure, she played a crucial role in reducing the environmental and social impacts of Hydro Tasmania, managing 60% of Tasmania’s freshwater resources and significant hydropower infrastructure.
Lauren's professional journey also includes her role as a Circular Economy Consultant at Coreo, a boutique consultancy dedicated to taking the circular economy from theory to practice globally. She also works as a Sustainability & Climate Change Specialist at TasWater, where she leads efforts to promote circular economy practices, reduce climate change contributions, and improve the resilience of TasWater assets.
With a diverse background that includes experience as a Business & Systems Integration Analyst at Accenture and a Property Officer at Gold Coast City Council, Lauren brings a wealth of knowledge and a versatile skill set to her work. She holds multiple certifications, including a Diploma of Quality Auditing and Internal + Lead Auditor qualifications from the British Standards Institute, as well as a Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and a Diploma of Project Management from TAFE Queensland.
Lauren's approach is characterised by her adaptability, inquisitiveness, and passion for education. She is dedicated to shaping transformative outcomes through kindness, problem-solving, and a deep commitment to sustainability.
